SCAE Certifications

Scae Certifications are written and practical tests to test the skills and competences of the industry professional. The contents of these tests are regularly updated, controlled and released directly by SCAE Europe. Anyone who is already well prepared will be able to do the certifications directly or otherwise they can attend a preparatory course for the individual certifications.
Each SCAE module has three levels of certification: - Basic Level (5 credits for the Coffee Diploma) The Basic Level provides a first introduction to a particular coffee-related discipline. It is an excellent introduction to the basic skills of a specific field and helps the participant decide whether to pursue and deepen their knowledge. The Basic level does not require previous experience. The expected duration for the preparatory courses to this certification level is 6 hours.

- Intermediate Level (10 credits for Pro Coffee Diploma) Suitable for those who already have a basic experience of the subject during the course. We recommend some work experience in the industry to be able to face intermediate level certification. The expected duration for the preparatory courses to this certification level is between 12 and 15 hours.

- Professional Level (25 credits for the Coffee Diploma) The Professional Level is suitable for those who want to acquire specialist knowledge on the subject at high levels. We highly recommend extensive experience in the industry to be able to follow this level. Candidates must have passed the intermediate level certification of the module to access the professional level exam. The length of the courses at this level is at least two days.

Certified teachers can only be the AUTHORISED SCAE TRAINER (AST) qualified and recognized by Scae Europe.

Each level of certification successfully completed will allow the student to earn the assigned credits and an official SCAE certificate attesting that result.
